The OS is an Android mod.

Didn't HTC just open the bootloader for Sensation 2? Tough it doesn't have a hw keyboard, but the hardware on that phone is pretty amazing.

WTF is wrong with 512MB of RAM? It has to be an EXTREMELY shabbily written OS and programs if 512MB is not even enough.

Wait and see the new specs for the WP devices, i think you will get a suprise !.

The day they bring out a device with upgradable ram is the day this world moves forward.

Yeah 1GB would be a nice futureproof option but 512MB would be acceptable right now.

I actually do not agree because most people are application crazy and unless you got good developers who always look at ram usage on there applications, look at the situation with the apps on here, greedy for ram or what !.

1gb should be the absolute minimum now and should be going up from that even.

Can you imagine a N900 with a 1.2ghz cpu and 1gb ram? wow what a hell of a difference that would have made and still will make.

In MeeGo-land, "apps" are forced by the compliance spec to bundle all their external (non-core) dependencies. Among all the other things that are wrong with this, it means that the benefits of shared libraries are lost and the storage and memory footprint increases accordingly. The N9 is going to need that 1G. Imagine for instance if every Fremantle python app had to include its own python runtime.

Wow, that is totally fuc***** gay. To think I used to be able to run gimp 1.5 on an HP Jornada 680 which had a 133MHz SH-3 processor and 32MB RAM!
