I must add that one of the things that triggered the transition in my case was the purchase of a Xiaomi Mi Air 13", only available in Qwerty. Warranty could be an issue, but quickly forgotten when the laptop is twice cheaper thsn anything similar. The benefitsjbenefits ust outweighed the costs.

Eventually, once I got used to US-International and how to make accented characters, changing all my other keyboards for ANSI Qwerty was easy, even though some of them were expensive keyboards. I could sell them and finding ANSI versions was not an issue since they are the most common.

I know that numerous people in France did that trandition too, although mainly in the geek-mech-keyboard community.

Apart from that, did I say that I cannot wait anymore for the friggin' Pro1?

I'm just wondering how it will happen. At some point does not funding have to be collected before some number of units are manufactured? It is hard to believe that they will manufacture say 2 to 10 thousand units without some guaranteedd payment. Any thoughts?

Well considering they're teasing another Meetup on their Twitter feed, I doubt they're close to release. Also depending on how polished the device was (both hardware and software) during these meets will probably give a super rough idea of how ready they are.
I think other users that saw it in person can chime in on that
I would think July release won't happen, but would love to be proven wrong...

Seen it person, absolutely no idea how close they are. Also keep in mind that they're creating the device for themselves, so we might expect some delays due to some small imperfections.
