The digital music is actually midi but recorded on a Roland. There's more info on the site.

well, that doesn't make sense. i think the digital music is .ogg files created from the midi played on a Roland. not sure if that's what you meant, but whatever...
I think the "path" to the music isn't working as when i run it from the console it shows an error trying to read the .ogg file.
i'll try to set a more direct path in the config and see what happens.

-edit-
"module format not recognized" is what happens.

Okay, I'll check when I get home. Maybe you need to have Ogg support installed.

Btw, Pentagram is almost ready and runs great.

i think it's a problem with the maemo sdl mixer not supporting OGG.
Here's some related stuff I was looking at:

Looks like you are right, only the sound effects are working. I'll try converting the music to mp3. Or to use the available static lib.

yeah, that's probably the easiest fix. i don't know much about recompiling this stuff so i'm not going to suggest much else. did you port this thing yourself, or is it based on this guys port? http://pupnik.de/exult770.html
He has some mp3 music there already, maybe it will work.

Well, no - it's a direct compile with some changes to the controls. Didn't change much else in 1.2. Porting Arnim's stuff probably would have been difficult on N900 since 770 is using much outdated libs (though if you run it, it may work even now )

Is this package testable without the game files or are there demo files?

I'm not sure if there is a demo, never seen one. Without the game files though (demo or not) - no.
