I am operating my phone usually with a BT connection to the car's radio. It looks like the car drops the announcements from pure maps (and also WhoGo maps before) in the case radio or music is running from the car-internal radio.
However, call-related stuff are heard, as the car mutes the radio/music in this case.

It is possible to let pure maps' announcements run in similar mode (higher
"priority", "call-related" or what-ever the mode is)?

@bomo, I have the opposite problem: a music playback from my phone through the car's audio system is interrupted the first time Pure (or WhoGo) Maps says anything and then the music never comes back unless I switch back to the music player manually and resume the playback.

I suspect the difference in our experiences has something to do with our setup. I use Muuzik! as my music player and mimic as my TTS, although I am considering switching to picoTTS.

@rinigus, sorry, I did not get to test your fix this morning, but I will soon™.

I don't know how to do that, unfortunately. Currently, QML Audio is used for playing the sounds. Tips to move it to some other priority level are welcome

I have done now and the verdict is... sorry, but the issue is still present

Sorry, I ran ps nowhere near a PC to do a proper SSH and text copy, but I took a screenshot. I had these two processes left running. Had to kill them both to recover. As you can see, running pkill as suggested here did not help:

(after jumping like pichlo's avatar) OK, let's try to debug further. Please run

sailfish-qml harbour-pure-maps

in terminal. Try to use as usual and see if the terminal prompt returns after you closed it. I have added some debug messages, let's see if they help.

The SystemExit hammer is still worth a try, or did someone try already?

Excellent idea! No, haven't tried that yet. I'll make RPM, so its easy to install and debug.

So far, I looked what will happen if I freeze TCP connection and there was a possible problem in http.py. But maybe there is something else in addition (or I have missed some case in http)
