Hello.
I now have two N900 with Sim locks locked to EE. I thought they don't come with Sim lock and my old N900 I bought ages ago was just simply blacklisted. It's only I've bought another one just week ago and the guy I bought it from said it works with EE. I checked it wouldn't accept Three sim but it would EE. Same with old one. It's just simply sim locked. I have reflashed both with
RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.13-2.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.bin
RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2.203.1_PR_COMBINED_203_ARM.bin
I found a reference on http://wiki.maemo.org/Maemo_UK_variant_firmware in UK section (country in from). Flash was successful but lock is still there. I only can use EE. Any idea how to get rid of that lock? Cheers.

Always been a thorny question, presence or otherwise of SIM lock upon the N900. Presumably these devices from the "Orange" era. Doubt makes any difference but might have tried flashing "Global" rather than "UK" firmware:

Not sure if it's relevant but I remember some 'unlocked' phones working on any network except Three for some reason.

I really do not remember exactly if simlock on N900 was seen at all.
Trying to flash the global version I would propose.

Funny would be to get EE contact Nokia:

If we need to contact the manufacturer to get a code, it may take ten days. But we’ll be in touch if that’s the case

Hi. I have flashed global combine firmware and still have that message after boot up.
SIM card registration failed
I know sim card is fine because I use it in my other N900. I've been checking forum and there are reports of people having problem with locked N900. On top of it in the eBay advert I got that phone from seller said it works with EE but I didn't give it a second thought. Obviously he checked it as well. I'll give EE a call tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath on that. Any other suggestions?

Ok. I think I've solved it. Not sure why EE SIM cards work but basically this one and my old phone are blacklisted. I wonder is there any way of taking it off black list. I don't think there is but maybe Somone heard about it. Strange thing that EE still let use their Sim cards.

When I switched to Three a while ago, I was stuck with Jolla for almost two years because my Three SIM card would not work in my N900. At first I thought it had something to do with the SIM size, but eventually I figured out it was as simple as a network mode setting. It has to be 3G as Three does not support 2G.

I use Three Sim card in my working N900 no problem. I've rang EE customer service and person dealing with me checked both IMEI of mobiles that don't accept Three Sim card and told me that both mobiles have been blacklisted since 2010 and there is nothing I can do about it. I just opened a case on eBay to get my money back. Upon more reading I found out that EE is the only network that would let login blacklisted mobile to their network but it won't let you do anything with it ( no phone calls, messages, data).
