Dedicated to term lovers....


For those who need an updated (mitical!) Midnight Commander....
(that doesn't crash every 5 minutes)....
....here it is the latest stable version 4.7.5.5 ...

Remove the one installed, unpack the tar in /opt/
And add at the end of /etc/profile:

alias mc=". /opt/mc/libexec/mc/mc-wrapper.sh"

The default mc runs good for me. Copy 1,5 GB - no problem - edit files - also good. But thanks 4 your work.

pretty much the 1st package i install whenever i set up a (Linux) system ¦-))))
can't remember which version it was 4 yrs ago, but i think it was something in 4.7.x
now at 4.8.10 & running smooth as silk
thanks for your efforts anyway!

EDIT: there is also a htop available in the repositories, however only 0.8.3
maybe i'll give yours a run
