We had some progress in backing up installed apps on the N770:

But what about N800? The file structure is quite different and personally I donīt really know where to look for the installation files.

When the time is up for an OS2007 update I would like to be able to fetch my installed apps from my mmc (read SD) installed OS, using the above method or perhaps even Grsync on preferrably a mounted pre-structured hierarcy of directories directly into the new OS. Am I dreaming or what?

See also some reasoning at:

No joy... figures...

My list of applications so far:
Becomeroot
fceu
fmradio
gnumeric
grsync
kismet
libncurses5
libpcap
load-applet-run
maemo-gaim
maemo-gaim-data
maemo-gaim-protocol-msn
maemo-gaim-protocol-oscar
maemo-games-startup
maemo-mapper
mediastreamer
minimo
mplayer
osso-xterm
panelclock
rsync
unzip
visualboyadvance
vncviewer
wget
xchat
xmaeme
xmame
zip
and Bootmenu

There should be a predefined 'conf' file to include in the /etc/osso-backup/applications/ directory for each and every application?! (Keep on dreaming??)

Some apps do really have this already, e.g. media player & mplayer, but are empty. Is there a place for retreiving these files?
