poStal!!!
It uses Unreal Engine 2.0 so normally I would laugh, but there is a linux version so... you never know.
requirements are supposed to be
Linux Kernel 2.2 or later, Pentium 1GHz or better, Glibc 2.1.x or later, 128 MB RAM, OpenGL capable video card with 64 MB of RAM.

Postal 2 has nothing to do with Valve.

Postal 3 is going to use the Source Engine. They (Running with Scissors who makes the Postal games) are still working on getting the Source Engine and Postal 3 running on Linux.

But yes, we would need the source code to at the least the Unreal Engine, not to mention whatever tweaks the Running with Scissors guys put into it.

It would be pretty sweet to get the first Postal game ported, maybe someone should email Running with Scissors and see if it could be done. May just require a recompile and a few tweaks to make it playable on a touch screen.

Unfortunately the answer's gonna be no...About two years ago I had an email conversation with Vince Desi of RWS, asking for a possible port to the Pandora. He got me in touch with Jon Merchant, who in turn directed my question to Ryan (Icculus if you've heard of him) who did the mac/linux ports. Eventually he got back to me with this message:

Sorry man I did chat to Ryan a little about it, and although he admits
it might feasible, he was not convinced that it was worth the effort.
As it would be him and only him that we would ever be able to get to
do it, without his eager backing it's unlikely to happen.

Still, thanks for the idea, was worth chasing up for sure.
And that was for the Pandora, so I doubt the n900 would make him change his mind. Now, should anyone send him a device and try to sweet talk him into it...

But the N900 is cooler than the Pandora!
It's faster and.... Dude, it's just cooler!

what the hell is the point of this game and why would anybody bother porting it rather less playing it :|

The point of this game is lost on this lot. If you bring up some game that ran on DOS in 1993, the frothy geek madness would be something to behold.

But Portal 2? Too modern to run on the N900. And too modern for this group.
