About making a big deal out of Skype and not using Gizmo i can only speak for myself and that is that most of my friends, well ALL of my friends, are using Skype. That's the only reason i want Skype and not Gizmo.

Promises of Skype soon were part of my decision to purchase an N800. I've been in this business for over 25 years...you think I would have learned by now. :-/

Right now you can get comunicate with skype and your nokia n770 or n800
my solution is tapiocca, gtalk2voip ipkall forwarded to gtalk2voip then skype forwarded to ipkall. to start a call to skype use sms4skype.net.(+41762203200) the pretty well covers it all
in the n800 google talk might work better than tapiocca. it will cost you 5 bucks for gtalk2voip and you'll have to get skype out to pay for forwarding to your ipkall number, but the ipkall number is free all and all its is ok but your friends have to know it will take a while to connect

I have got a great deal of contacts on my Skype. I use it for business and family, im not going to pay for yet another company.

I also am waiting on skype but in the meantime 2c/min for calling a landline is hardly what I would call "paying"
