So what you meant was that SGS owners are an honest bunch while N900 owners are corrupted cheaters.

Hmmm that's an interesting point. I thought we were just plain cheaters

The problem is that most users should be more than capable of casting multiple votes. (Though given the average iPhone user - I emphasize average; I know there's plenty who aren't brainless sheep - that puts iPhones at a disadvantage.)

Of course, personally, I was definitely not a supporter of the multiple voting. It's sad. We could have won anyway, I think (going into this, I decided that I would only feel the N900 won if it had more than twice the votes of the Galaxy S, simply because I figured there was a good portion of the demographic who'd vote 2-3 times). I myself was tempted to leave my one vote for the N900, then flood the Galaxy S with however many votes I could generate with the help of proxies from my N900 and laptop. I decided against it because ultimately screwing the the results by others doesn't justify me screwing with results even more, especially when there's probably rabid fans of the Galaxy S doing the same on the other end.

This is how I see it:
Everyone tried to cheat, but the N900 owners (and a few palm pre owners) were the only ones clever enough to do it right. Thankfully ysss's botnet evened out the votes just a tiny bit so the results didn't look completely ridiculous. Regardless, the N900 is the rightful winner because more intelligent cheaters own it.

you can only cast 1 vote from 1 ip

so I am not sure how people make it seem that cheating is so easy and only available to ν900 supporters

mece don't mind what he said. He's actually insulting the intelligence of most SGS's users who don't know how to cast multiple votes. You know, normal people would not claim the victory by insulting their opponents, but some people would just love to do that.

made my day...
Thanks for the link. That was funny.

Especially when I found this post: http://forums.precentral.net/palm-pr...ml#post2673205

Just checked the stats:

Palm Pre 55.2% (2,240 votes)
Nokia N900 44.8% (1,818 votes)
Total Votes: 4,058

Way to go WebOS faithful!! Let's keep it going...I've managed separate votes from my work PC, PS3, Pre and my laptop...look around you..bet there's more than one thing that has a browser on it lying around ;-)

Some may call this cheating...but I call it sticking it to Nokia and representing WebOS lol :-)
mr_bridger (the OP) started this thread at that time thus reversed the result. Had we not acknowledged of the ballot N900 would have lost in semi-final.

All hail to mr_bridger

Hehe thanks for the concern. Not to worry though, I, and I assume ysss too, enjoy this sort of banter. Why else would we do it?

You know, I had this really snarky post composed for the FoneArena championship forum parodying what one SGS ("Supporter of Galaxy S") said, that would accuse the N900 fans of voting multiple times, and then asking for help cheating the same way with one of those 2-line scripts because they didn't know how to do multiple voting on Android.

I think you guys would have enjoyed it, but the contest ended before I could post it. Oh, well, save the rhetoric for next time the N900 goes against some smartphone, I guess.

Gryedouge is right in that the battle against the Palm Pre would have been much more interesting, with much more knowledgeable discussion. At least it wouldn't have been so easy to walk all over the SGS (I mean, I just googled "Galaxy S criticism" plus there's an entire heading about SGS problems in the Wikipedia article). Too bad I came late to the battle when the N900 had gone up against the Pre.

Well...you can still post your rhetoric for our dissection and learned analysis

There is nothing better than an after victory lap, followed by a song and dance.
