Sadly, we have not found a way to call standard camera in video mode from our application.

Hi, eugene,

just out of curiosity, how do you made this. It always bothered me that
nokia made a camera api available for third party applications,
but at the same time the camera lens cover always and only opens
the stock camera application.

I know there are some "ways" to do this, like FCamera does this.
But I think you must have found a way which does not violates
the ovi store rules.

Nicolai

We use an 'official' utility /usr/sbin/dsmetool to turn on/off the launch of standard camera.
Catching the cover open/closing:
bool ret = QDBusConnection::systemBus().connect(QString(),
DBUS_LENS_COVER,
"org.freedesktop.Hal.Device",
"PropertyModified",
this,
SLOT(lenscover_property_modified(int, QList<Property>)));

How does the 'shallow' mode work ? Where to take the focus from ? Or is always middle of the screen ? I did some experimenting with holding the focus key and moving slightly away from the focused object but I got not so good results.
Do we have to keep all centered for now ? No spot focus selection possible ? Or next version

Anyway, great new release. Little bug after returning from blanking as said before but easy manageable. But I did have a few times Bless crashing on me though. No messages, nothing to the user. Just closed. Gone. Bizarre...

Looking forward for the fixes/newer versions.
I personally think may be this opinion is reasonable, to a certain degree.

I've been trying out BlessN900 again after a rather poor first experience months ago. Kudos on an excellent program!

Classic example of arbitrary Nokia decision making. Couldn't just fallback to the no brainer of tagging with lat/lon if network isn't accessible, could you Nokia?
