Your instructions were fine freemangordon.

My problem was not being able to reinstall libbridge2 because I didn't have the fremantle/ssu/002 repository enabled. The apt-get error suggested that libbridge2 was non-downloadable, so rather than fix my repos I tried playing with bridgedriver.ko and the /lib/dsp files.

I likely wouldn't have figured this out without my brand-new spare N900

Anyways, I now have libbridge2 reinstalled, the proper bridgedriver.ko, and the proper /lib/dsp files in place, so everything is fine -- hopefully!

And my video files still often hang at "five dots", when watching many in sequence. I've got to find some kind of correlation between this issue and something happening on the system...

cloud, did this information come from Handbrake or did you run another tool to get these file properties? I might be able to compare your encoding properties against my m4v's encoding properties.

Will you please try the kernel from here and report if the issue still remains. It could be that you undervolt/overclock too much, so try with dsp profile or raise your voltages a bit in the profile you are using.

Could it be that you are trying to play HD H264 main/high profile? That just don't work, n900 is not powerful enough for that.

hello freemangordon...

i don't know if this is happening with me only...
today i tried to record videos with ur latest camera-ui and everything else..
on pressing start (camera button) screen flashes 2-3 times and an image (of the initial target to be captured) is displayed (as if i had clicked an image of that target) and when i press back switch from the screen i see that the video is being recorded...

is it a bug or happening with me only...?
ur help will be highly appreciated..

thanku
