the output is put into a file:
dpkg -l | grep qt > dpkg-output.txt

(never uploaded a file into this forum, wondering if it works...)

Oh, i see. You have to install CSSU update to your phone first.
Check this wiki article
Currently you have core qt libs version 4.7.0 installed and you should have qt 4.7.4 to get nelisquare work

this is bad news for me.
I am not in the mood to dare install of CSSU in these times on my N900, having no way to reflash if something goes wrong...

Could you please make the last version accessible to me which did not depend on CSSU? maybe 0.4.4 or was it 0.4.6? That would be great.

Keep in mind, that cssu installation process is quite easy now one click, one program, and some waiting time

it should instal...
I tried this before. This time I enabled extra-devel but when I open the downloaded .deb with file manager HAM opens it, reports no problems under "details", but after some seconds stops with notification "installation not possible", no further hints.

Is there a better way to install it? I am not fit in using dpkg directly, what would be the exact command?

The only thing you have to do is just 8 steps under "Installation" section. With GUI installer
After Community SSU installation find it in your menu, and run
Note, that there is pre requirements (step 2 and step 3).

Direct command is
dpkg -i some_file.deb
update: may be current problems are caused by repositories migration from nokia to community servers. Check this thread for details and info about mirrors, or wait until migration will be completed

Both bugs are already fixed in current beta/alpha(0.4.10) versions
Next stable version will be released as soon as community migration will be over (-:
Keep in mind that 0.4.9+ version require CSSU to be installed

Nokia stopped support for N900 after PR1.3. But phone software still had errors. And lots of new core software version and upgrades has been released since 2010.
CSSU is next update for stock phones. It's software update. Read it like PR1.4 for N900.

It's just the same line as whining about Photoshop CS4 not working on Windows 98 (Windows 7 is just marketing blah-blah as Windows 98 had Notepad and Windows 7 does).

As a developer, I want to use new features provided by modern libraries as well as you want to recieve new awesome funtionality from applications, with clean design and so on.

update:
the same applies to iphone as well - you have to install new iOS releases to run new applications
