The album art needs to be embedded into the mp3 file. You can do this with MP3Tag or similar programs.

does anyone have only partial album art on the N900? I only get about less that half the upper art and the rest is completely black for a lot of my albums. Any ideas? Thanks.

rename/copy folder.jpg (that i use on windows) to cover.jpg

that will help then i see my album art just fine..

If you add it later on, on your n900, it will not work you have to reset the trackers database: run "tracker-processes -r" in the terminal

sorry, run me by that one again, i am confused.

people are talking about renaming the cover art to mp3tag's, and now you are saying just to rename them to cover.jpg.

which is it?

also, if my music and cover art is already on the device, am i to understand that i cannot simply connect it to the PC and rename the cover art from there?

can i instead cut the music folders to my computer, rename the cover art there, and then cut it back to the n900 and expect to have the media player do its job and display cover art properly?

many thanks.
