Honestly, If N810 version will exist I wil try to run that one without gui on N95 8GB. Same SoC.

The problem is there is no bootloader so with every flash I will need to use service cables (that one which goes into battery place) with phoenix, but is possible

I just managed to boot Maemo Leste on N900.
I am pumped!
Boot time maybe slower, but the UI is actually more responsive than the original Fremantle!

Now, I have some trouble to get WiFi working.
It could have two reasons, and I just want to make sure:
Is the non-free firmware mentioned in the wiki already included in the image?
Assuming it is, the other reason could be: my router does not use DHCP, so I need to define the N900's IP and nameservers manually. On Fremantle I could do this via "Internet connections", but on Leste the dialogue seems to end in a dead end at "Name and Type" (no connection types to choose from).
Do I have to tell my router to use DHCP or is there another way?

And how can I change the keyboard layout to Finnish/Nordic?
'setxkbmap fi' returns 'Error loading new keyboard description'.

Edit:
I now realise that mobile broadband (SIM card) might not be fully working either. Can I activate it via command line?
The SIM card inserted is not PIN protected and can provide 4G data connections.

Yes, it is not a firmware issue that you are facing

I will test my Leste device a bit later. But your experience sounds a bit strange. You may want to start again with a fresh image.

Yes, there is no UI for managing SIM yet. However ofono works if you are willing to use terminal.
N900 hardware cannot do 4G by the way.

How do I do that?
I could not find any instructions on wiki.maemo.org.

It has low quality as noise cancelation is still problematic.

A new Maemo Leste talk seems coming again to Bulgaria's OpenFest on 2nd of November.

Will try to have the code/ui for that in alpha state in the next week or so.

The maemo leste boots nice and clean. Great progress!! Wifi and terminal hacking all works out of the box.
