When I listen to my ringtone in mediaplayer it sounds ok , but when someone calls me it sound a bit distorted . How could I fix this ?

You probably have something either mechanically wrong in your IHF speaker in the phone, or some dust and dirt next to the component.

You could try going to a Nokia Care and find out if they could clean it for you. Mind you though, that dirt inside the device isn't covered by the warranty in most cases.

i get the same thing.

its the worst when using a bluetooth.


i have a feeling it has sometjing to do with custom ringtones.

You need to convert the ringtones to mono sound or the n900 will convert itself and it will turn out that way.

it happens with my unit, and my ringtone is the standard deskphone that i took off the 9500 years ago, so it is a standard mono sound.
