Maemo Elections are approaching fast, are you eligible to vote?

Election Information
The election timetable for the next Community Council election is (all deadlines are set at 23:59 UTC):

* February 10: Election announced
* March 2: Deadline for karma for electorate
* March 2: List of potential candidates published
* March 2: Nominations open
* March 16: Nominations close
* March 17: List of candidates announced
* March 23: Voting opens
* March 30: Voting closes
* March 31: Results announced

More information about the election can be found here --> http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=44036

------------------------------------------------

YOU MUST HAVE 10 POINTS OF KARMA BY MARCH 2nd 23:59 UTC IN ORDER TO VOTE IN THE ELECTION

In order to vote in the Maemo Community Council election you must have at least 10 Karma points. Karma is a measurement of community participation. When you make posts and threads and when you receive "thanks" on talk.maemo.org you get small amounts of karma.

10 Karma is not a lot obtain and most users should be able to vote if they have been around a few months and been posting regularly. Sounds simple right?

Now if it were only that simple we would not be sending out this message. First of all we have to understand a few more things about how you can actually get the karma you have already earned.

1) In order to receive karma (from posts and thanks on the forums) you must have a talk.maemo.org account (which you do if you received this) AND a maemo.org account.
If you do not yet have a maemo.org account, you can create one here --> https://garage.maemo.org/account/register.php

2) You must then login to the maemo.org account and link your talk.maemo.org account with your maemo.org account.
Instructions on how to link your accounts can be found here. http://wiki.maemo.org/Link_talk.maem...mo.org_profile

3) Karma is calculated every couple of days, so you will not see the changes immediately. For talk-Karma, it takes a maximum of about 2 days to get updated (currently processing about 600 users per hour).
You can keep track of your - and everyone else's - karma here on the profile list page. --> http://maemo.org/profile/list/

NEED HELP?
If you have any problems and you need some help, please post your questions here......

Additional information about karma can be found here
---> http://wiki.maemo.org/Karma

What is "Maemo Community Council"?? More information can be found here --> http://wiki.maemo.org/Task:Community_Council

Thank You,

Maemo Community Council
