Useless outside of official samsung android models.
Do you mean updates by the OEM? Considerable development on roms for certain Samsung devices. Sometimes better for Exynos then Qualcomm devices. Depends on interest and locality. Just askin...

well, sometimes. But in most cases qualcomm is the way to go when it comes to development and custom ROMs.

Yes you are quite right. But for me, my last Samsung device was the Note Edge (Qualcomm version sold in US a couple years ago) and, as it turns out, the Exynos version got quite a bit more development than the Qualcomm one. Especially for the kernel. In fact because of that I learned how to make some mods on my version's kernel so I could make it permissive and do a few other things. In this case it was a good thing cause I learned how to do something new!

Are there any smart watches with same functionality? That would be even smaller.

Reminds me a bit of the palm/hp veer – without the (surprisingly useful) sliding keyboard. That was the best phone form factor I've ever actively used. (When counting the N900 as a computer…) And that slider was soooo satisfying to fiddle with when nervous. But I digress.
For the Jelly there's no word yet on SOC, sadly. I'd really like to see (surprised, anyone?) SFOS on it. Might be a nice little thingy for my dearest if her JP01 breaks, which it will.
