I have installed mplayer. I have copied it into usr/bin, and I have tried it: it works ( I get all kinds of messages when I launch it).
I have mplayer unpacked and started from and in /home/user/MyDocs/.documents as this is my current understanding of where streamtuner expects mplayer to be, is this location the same as usr/bin ?

Modified extract from StreamTuner page IMPORTANT : 0.99.99-4 (And up) need mplayer binary for nokia770 (garage version) to be present in your Documents folder. (On the nokia 770 device)

If this is not the issue perhaps your problem will be better addressed in the maemo garage for streamtuner i.e. the by submitting a bug in the bugs section?

Streamtuner (maemo port) is now very easy to install.
Download it here :

Screenshot here :

You just have to install mplayer package before Streamtuner package

Try it and enjoy thousand of radio channels

SInce yesterday, it's more and more easier:
Mplayer has a graphical interface (GUI) and is very easy to install and for streamtuner as easy as newca12b wrote.
Very useful with hundreds of radios

The VideoPlayer application on the Nokia 770 supports streaming of audio. The application works very well and you can easily listen to Internet radio broadcast on the Nokia 770. *IF* you know the URL that is.

The main obstacle for me, and probably many more Nokia 770 users, is that I don't have the URL to various radio stations and therefore not use this feature that much.

The linked article is for Internet radio on Nokia E series phones but the 64 pointer files also work with the Nokia 770 Video Player.

I've also been compiling a list of Nokia-770 compatible radio stations, at my (tiny, ugly) site www.radioten.com - doesn't cover so many UK locals as the lists you mentioned but is more global (can also be read easily in the 770 without zooming, so no need to copy the links locally).

For anybody who has installed mplayer, do any of the realaudio radio links I've listed as "broken" on my site work in mplayer but not in the video player? Does it understand .smil files?
