Still: no.

This site:

http://planet.maemo.org/

shows most of the new software that comes out for the 770 (every new entry is for ITOS 2006 these days), so you want to might bookmark it. That way you don't have to ask the same question over and over.

I haven't found a project that is working on Abiword. Is anyone working on it? If so, what is the status? If not, perhaps I will.

Please do. I'm sure I have a firstborn lying around somewhere. How do you like your sacrifice?

I'd rather have Textmker.

Yeah, but that's closed source and entirely at the mercy of Softmaker; so there's nothing to be gained by raising it here.

It should be taken up with them (which I believe it has, and the answer was an unequivocal "no" :-/)

AFAIK, Textmaker relies on QT. Also, they only made a (buggy) embedded Linux version for the Zaurus platform, which hasn't been updated in years.

And, I've already asked them if they would port their generic Linux version to the Nokia 770, to which the developers answered with a categorical "njet!"

So, no news about Abiword for OS2006 ?
Are we going to downgrade to OS2005 to use it?

I have released a (basically) working port of ABIWord.
