Hi all!

I finally got Gentoo booting on N9 and GPU working in accordance with this: https://twitter.com/fi1ippz/status/9...194349056?s=09

I set up host computer as a distcc/binpkg server with toolchains etc. Everything works great, but N9 is incredibly laggy. For example the command:

time dd if=/dev/zero of=shittest bs=60 count=1000000

takes about 1min 40secs while in Harmattan it succeeds in less than ten seconds. It's not about partition.

I've tried my own compiled kernel and pmos kernel, no difference.
I've tried the hardfp and softfp stage3s, no difference.

I'm clueless. BTW the kernel is 4.17-rc4

Experiences with 4.* kernels?

This is really old kernel, no? Maybe you can somehow use what we do in leste?

https://github.com/maemo-leste/droid...tree/maemo-6.1

despite its name, this is actually omap kernel that runs on both 4430 (droid4) and 3430(n900). Maybe with some massaging (DTB etc) you will be able to make it boot on n9/50

also, we have https://github.com/maemo-leste/sgx-ddk-um that's up-to-date binaries from TI.

To give you some idea on the performance:
glmark-es2 hits about 87 (iirc) on droid4
