When the Bora distro comes out, we'll be adding it to the community repositories. As of now, the non-nokia repos are chinook only. I see lots of users trying to install the bora distro. Not yet, folks. Wait for the developers.

Well, u know, I liked Canola2 so much, that I haven't gave up after your post and started to fight =)

The onlly thing u should do is to change all "repository.maemo.org" to "repoSTory.maemo.org" And all will install loud and clear =) Viva C2 on Bora! xD

I changed myself the settings to repoSTory as well. It finally actually finished the download but upon.installing an error came up. it actually placed itself into the menu. when I start it, it says "canola loading" but then nothing.

is there any repo that has a working file?
how do I get canola ? ... been trying for 3 days now

johenkel :

I think you maybe facing the same problem I face here in my tests once.
Please if you can send me some info I can try to help you :

1. if it installed, can you try starting it through the xterm (utilities -> xterm )? with the following options :
canola -vvvvvv

This will give you the debug messages (if you do via SSH even better to copy and paste for us)

with this info we will be able to see what's wrong, and how to help you.

I think probably is something related to dbus because of some other application installed that conflicts with canola. Let's see..

Thanks handful.
Here's what I got:

~ $ canola -v
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/canola", line 30, in <module>
mger = Manager("/etc/canola.conf")
File "/singleton.py", line 25, in __call__
File "/manager.py", line 41, in __init__
File "/manager.py", line 46, in _load_config
File "/terra_config.py", line 19, in __init__
File "/terra_config.py", line 24, in _load
IOError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/etc/canola.conf'

I have to say, I had phyton 2.5 installed separately. So the size of the installation was about 4MB shown in the app manager.
Hope that helps.
