Apparently, that was the "Oh *****, we're fcuked" moment that then motivated Elop to get into discussions with Google and Microsoft. Google never even tried to cut a deal to get Nokia onboard, so that left Microsoft as the only partner.
And who made the OS teams device release roadmap?
The OS teams job was to convince the clueless Elop that WP looks backward compared to Harmattan and convince him to betray MS and rule his own empire

Elop met the wrong team.

He should have met with the hardware department and ask them how many MeeGo (Harmattan) compatbile hardware variations they can design between now and ... FAST

and how about the QC and factories' capacity to speed up release of hordes of MeeGo phones for every type of consumer.

Then setup a parallel roadmap for integrating new technologies such as Pureview in a few of those many models.

Job well done.

This thread has definitely moved on from my intended argument/point.

Read this

What I was trying to say was how heartbreaking it is to see all this effort and innovation poured into windows, whilst MeeGo has been left to rot.

We all know that windows is a limiting factor, imagine this hardware with Swipe.

That screen, 332ppi?
Legitimate 60fps, no artifacts?
And to the pureview naysayers, regard this

It mightn't be legit pureview, but the point is, it's the best on the market, and now it belongs to Microsoft.

Nokia is the best design firm in the market, and they belong to Microsoft.

Please, bow your head, and respect a moment of silence for the fallen..

Another good man (company) dies.
