I hope you get it working, but if you don't, there are still some things to do with it.
Use it as a print server (with USB host mode, and a usb hub)
light weight apache server
with a usb ethernet card you could probably use it as a wireless router, or a wireless bridge.

If you are a hacker, all is not lost. But still a sad day

Hmm. I also run into this from time to time with my N810, but it doesn't loop (fortunately).
No idea about a fix. :-/

got news from Nokia...
they ask 180$ to fix the problem.....
do they really know how much a new N810 costs????

A new 810 will run from $170 to $270, depending on where you look.

I think N800s are a lot less now, though I haven't been looking for them.

Seaar: I think that was kinda the point. They don't want to fix it. They want you to buy a whole new one. T_T Or at least that's what the tech claims, and it's likely him not wanting to do the work given that the n810 is EOL.
