So I got a pointless new PM from someone that hasn't posted and just joined, and is little more than "HI" with a website address in the sig. It looks like spam. Anybody else getting this?

Yup, most probably a spammer. New members are limited to a maximum of 3 PMs mainly to avoid such problems. If this is a new wave of spamming, I can set PMs to zero for new members.

Can you let us know who this member is?

Thanks.

Hi,

I got this too.

Just deleted it and did not pay much attention to it.

Annoying, yes, but not much of an issue for me.

Same here. So much for the 3 message limit.

Ok, I dug a bit and checked the database and it seems like this PM bot is quite smart. The 3 PM limit rule is active but it seems like the bot is smart enough to delete PMs on its PM box so it can keep sending.

I have disabled PM sending for new users to avoid this problem.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

I received this message, too. Am in a quandry over it. My granddaughter's name is Stephanie. Nothing personal was in the message sent me. Am assuming the use of the name, Stephanie, was accidental.
