Thanks for this tip. I am about to move back to the states and may do this. The thing I am confused about is the quote above. Why do you have to tether that way? Can't you use any phone that has BT? For e.g., I am thinking about the Samsung M520. It lists that it can be used as a modem for a computer using BT, so can't one just get this phone and use it that way?

Nokia only has suport for Dun built into the device but you can get suport for another one can't remember name right now, But yes that phone uses BT Dun so you would be ok.

Any phone with BT can be connected to the Nokia over BT.
Just remebebr many Windows Mobile phones do no support DUN, so you will have to go the PAN way when connecting over BT.

PAN is not offically supported on Nokia N800/N810.
There is a very detailed thread about setting up PAN support using BT-PAN for the Nokia to connect to MS phones.
