brings back memories of Nokia open-souring Symbian in the hopes of combating Android. That wasn't a big success. And I don't know why open-sourcing bada would make it more successful.
I would call bada os a clone of iOS, even more so than Android. Also I haven't seen any unique features in the bada os devices I have (briefly) used, other than a very attractive (=low) price.

I think that it will be very difficult for any other manufacturer to make a profitable model based on this OS, because of the already low-price of bada devices, and lack of unique features in bada.
