Many thanks for the work porting this.
Help doesn't work?

Sh**! Something else to fix ;-)

It does on my n810

do you have the file manual.html in /usr/share/roadmap?

Stop the off-topic, RoadMap can only handle US maps, did you forget the rest of the world? Navit can handle Garmin maps that are a Standard, and it is the topic of this Thread,

thanks.

Now: Anyone interested in compiling NAVIT for the IT2008?

SebaSOFT - I do not concur.

Of the thread topic, the roadmap discussion misses one word, namely 'Navit', and hits right on target with all the rest, namely 'new o.s. routing navigation for N800'

Sorry if they are focused on the US and Canada, and you live in Argentina. However, you need not despair, if you go to
http://roadmap.sourceforge.net/maps.html
You can see that there is some work to bring in worldwide maps (including, of course, South America)

I am really excited that people have surfaced three potential GPS software apps in this thread rather than limiting the discussion to just the one in the title. I'm game to hear about a potential port of Navit, but I am also game to hear about an existing port of Roadmap. (Although, imho, the screenshots of Navit look like it'll be the nicest UI).

Ideas for other nav packages are all well and good, but forgive me if I can't get behind satnav which has "official horizontal accuracy of the DCW is 2040 meters" and "the resulting maps are therefore unusable for car navigation". I'll drop the 100 euros for wayfinder before that happens; it's still cheaper than buying a tomtom license or unit to replace my existing one. I, personally, don't fell aggrieved by nokia charging for routing, considering I didn't buy my n800 (or n810 when I get one) for the satnav; that's a bonus

If the app uses Garmin maps, I'm not interested. I don't want to buy overpriced maps, which I can get for about the same price with a complete GPS device. YMMV.
