If you don't want to wait or reboot, you have to force refresh the Software Updates app by sliding down (a small spinning circle appears while it's doing the check). I had to go through five or six updates before getting that 34.3.A.0.228 thing.

p.s.: bye bye, Android! SailfishX running on my F5121. Yay!!

I can confirm a prepaid travelex mastercard works.

It'll work in the future. Besides, it would probably be trivial to get it working with something like hostapd. I'll try my hand at it later tonight when I get the software installed, and I'll update the thread with progress.

Happily running Sailfish here on Xperia. Flashed from Linux. The main issue I had was to be aware of the difference between flash mode and fastboot mode (Volume down and Volume up). Some guides mix it up.

Edit. The first problem I had was that shop.jolla.com complained that I was in the wrong country on my cable internet! I had to share internet connection from a phone to buy and download. I hate geo restrictions because they do not work!

I don't really get this - why do you want to have a smaller system partition ? I've already hit the other limitation - the system partition holds installed software and fills up fast once you install some more stuff (and especially some packages not really optimized for mobile use, like emacs, for example). So I rather welcome a big root partition, that to enlarge an already pretty big data partition (& you can still easily extend that with an uSD card).

Because that system partition is from android. In SFOS it is mounted to /fimage (AFAIR they keep factory reset images there). Which uses only 1.4GB out of android's 8GB

Android's /data partition in SFOS becomes LVM, which houses both root (/) and /home
Code:
/dev/sailfish/root    2.4G  1.3G  1.1G  55% /
/dev/sailfish/home     53G  353M   52G   1% /home

$ devel-su pvs
  PV VG Fmt Attr PSize PFree
  /dev/mmcblk0p51 sailfish lvm2 a--  55.70g    0
PS Extending root / is another story. It can be done any moment - advantages of LVM.
