I was wondering why Amboss had a problem with PM that was solved by pkcon refresh but it turns out I just did not read his post properly. Sorry.
cuz pkcon cant install any extra depends from repo because of outdated repositories. also: current storeman uses wrong "update" method, instead of "install" one, causing much worse problems.

Yes, sorry. I tend to post confusing questions.

Anyway, since first part of my question was answered and was a problem of storeman or even jolla itself: The second part of the question was, why PM3 needs a bluetooth kill switch (I guess this is what the name of it implies) as dependency. Is this for the "reset services" thingy?

And third: Why is it still called beta. Is it considered less stable than PM2?

it doesnt. see: "current storeman uses wrong "update" method, instead of "install" one, causing much worse problems."

>> Why is it still called beta
because i dont have enough time to kill all the bugs and test everything from scratch

Nobody really knows (presumably including @coderus), as Patchmanager 3 lacks testers carrying out proper tests with a focus on reproducibility and providing comprehensive feedback / bug reports beyond "it does not work".

E.g. take a look at PM's issue tracker and you will realise that only very few ever provided proper feedback.

And while properly filed complaints ("issue reports") have been quite rare, @coderus never received any code contribution ("Pull Request") for Patchmanager 3, AFAICS.

So if you want speed up the development of PM3, do something besides asking / complaining!

P.S.: For me recent PM3 versions are behaving "better" than the last PM2, but YMMV.

I was just curious and also wanted to judge the risk if I ise it. Thanks for the insights by both of you.

As for testing and bug reporting: I would love to help out and by that give back some to those investing their precious time. I'm afraid, this is out of my limits at the time. I know it sounds like a common excuse, but job, family and being financial council of an association (is this what Vereinsvorstand translates?) eats most of my time. I didn't even manage to give promised feedback to PureMaps (sorry @rinigus).

By the way my Inoi R7 is passed away, so I'm not community-member anymore.

Which would be another big loss

Only Ordroid... or Pear device?
No Maemo, MeeGo, SFOS at all?
