It seems that I am also one of the chosen few ... or many as it may turn out to be.

Should we open a bug about this?

I found this old bug but the user seems to have a different reason for not getting karma updated

Strange, I also have stuck-up karma. Maybe it is not updating the "Thanks" count? I see myself marked with only 142 Thanks and 19 posts.

no mailing list karma for me in addition to new posts (haven't got so much thankses recently that I'd say it counts)

I am doing a bug report as we speak:

https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8599

I just remembered that I've edited wiki too...

I voted too. Although somehow me voting made the bug appear to get marked as confirmed by vote by me

I'm not sure how that happened

Confirmed through popular vote. When a bug is voted for x number of times, the status is set to "confirmed" automagically. This ensures that issues which have a big impact are taken care of.

...thus confirming once again the value of voting.

Classic example of arbitrary Nokia decision making. Couldn't just fallback to the no brainer of tagging with lat/lon if network isn't accessible, could you Nokia?
