Hello...

I'm trying to figure out how SIP caller ID's relate to contacts using the latest RTcom package for the n800.

I'm using an Asterisk server for VOIP.

When a SIP call comes in it's displayed as "extension@server.ip.address", so it doesn't appear that the Internet Calling application supports the callerid info from Asterisk. That's fine, but I would assume it would at least try to match that information to your contacts.

For example if a call comes in as "sip: 6001@192.168.1.2" It won't display that it's the contact "Freddy" regardless if I have his contacts info set to "6001", "6001@192.168.1.2", or "sip: 6001@192.168.1.2".

Am I just totally lost or missing some helpful Asterisk confiuration?

Does anyone have incoming calls getting shown as an appropriate contact using Asterisk?

Thanks!

Sure after over an hour trying to figure it out, I post the question, and then figure it out within minutes FWIW part of my problem was that the voip server IP was different depending if I was connecting inside the LAN (private IP) or outside (public IP). The asterisk "fromdomain=" directive in sip.conf help clear it up.
