I was under the intent that when OS2008 was released, that .wmv media format would be supported. Is there any application that successfully runs .wmv? I tried mplayer, but it does not fully run the video clip -- the clip will not play, however you are able to fast forward and rewind and see portions of the clip.

Which Maemo version are you running?

WMV is a file container which supports many audio and video codecs.

You can also convert a WMV to an other format.

The symptoms you're having make me wonder if the video you're trying to play is too big for the NIT to handle.

Yeah, check the wiki (or p.36 of the manual for the tablet). There's very specific codecs, bitrates and resolutions of WMV that the tablet will play.
