Hello,

I've attempted to run Canola after installing it from:
http://openbossa.indt.org/canola/install_second.html

After installing, it appears under Extras. When I click it, a pop-up appears reading "Canola - loading". And thats where it ends for me on my N810.

Note that this is my first attempt at using Canola and I did not have a previous version installed.

Wud appreciate advise.

Best,
wirefree

Hey Wirefree,

There's a chance that one of the dependencies might have not downloaded right. Maybe conflict between repositories or something else, but here try this:

1. Completely uninstall all canola related things(in your case just uninstall canola)

2. Disable all Repositories (in app manager)

3. and try downloading it again, when it gives the error that the repo is disabled just click enable. try that.

If this doesn't work delete that repository and download canola from http://maemo.org/downloads/product/OS2008/canola2/

hope it helps

I had this problem, but luckily it's easily fixed There's a file that's been renamed that breaks one of canola's shared libraries. The fix is detailed in this post:
