When I run the Notes utility (on the N800 with OS2008) and click to bring up the on-screen keyboard, when it comes up it doesn't include the numeric keys. Is there a solution?

Never mind. I see it's because the 'caps lock' or 'upper case' key was on.

When you first open it and click then the Shift button is pressed for you by default. This is so that the first letter you type is uppercase. Pressing the shift button will change the characters back to lowercase and show the numeric keys also.
There is a setting to change this behavior but I can't find it right now.

The change was in "Control Panel" and you could turn on off things like word completion etc. But I too am not finding it in 2008 beta. hmmm

It's under Control Panel / Text input settings / Languages tab / Settings / Auto-capitalization
