I bought the N900 but I still have my N800. It comes in handy when travelling or at times when I have guests staying over. I hand them the N800 instead of a laptop if they need to check their mail or facebook or whatever.

I would be absolutely over the moon if Nokia re-engineered the N800 for Fremantle with proper video capabilities and more horsepower. Oh and a built in GPS. I have a bluetooth keyboard for the times I need to do serious keyboard work, and can tether my phone when I need to, so only need a single contract.

I have 2 16GB cards in mine, and it does just about anything I want. Although there are somethings I'd like I'll not turn this into a whiney want thread!

Struggling to imagine at the minute a compelling reason to spend several hundreds upgrading when the new tablet comes out, although I'm sure the lust will kick in when it finally breaks cover, although a faster N810 with onboard 3G does not excite me.

Glad to see I am not the only one!
You can use a 16 gb card in this device?

yep, the N800 supports SDHC, so i suspect it can even go 32GB pr slot if the user feels like trying.

basically, the max size given in a manual i usually the max size that the company had at hand to test with at the time of design, not the absolute max that the slot can handle (tho it will get slower as the card gets larger, as the bus will be optimized against the smaller card that they tested).

Indeed, 32GB cards work fine. If someone would produce larger capacity SDHC cards they would work too.

Same here... I also feel that the N800 was a great device in it's class.
(I also got the 770 and the N810, and prefer the N800 any day...).
Mine still works fine, and I still use it almost every other day: checking mail, weather, a quick web page... but the thing I use the most is the FM radio. I really like this feature. Too bad the interface is so "tiny"...

Nokia should keep producing and selling the N800 at a reduced price...
If it was under 120eur, I bet it would sell...

Just to share. I was at a poetry event over the US King day holiday and decided to use the livecast app to livestream the last couple of performers. People kept asking me "what is that??" They were blown away that I could do that. Only problem was that the swivel camera gave an upside down image so I had to face the camera at the performers.

Some N800 devices apparently has an upside-down camera problem (i.e. the internal swivel position detector doesn't work or isn't detected in software). My N800 works fine though.
