I must say sometimes the community has no respect et all

first we should be happy that jolla allows install on our beloved n9

second thing is those wo want latest should wait until it has reached those users who bought jolla!

atm the servers are busy rolling out the packages to users as plenty of jollas get timeouts etc. and the fact that n9 users has no patient does not help it.

now thinknl about end users who not are so technical they may very well wonder why theyr phones does not workthink and throw the phone in trash and buy another phone from that big company because it just works.

so ny point is WAIT SOME DAYS so real customers get it first!

or else i would not be suprised if jolla start to block non jolla devices and everyone loose on it :-(

I think he is right
we have to stop nailing their weak server while the real customers have to get the updates first

Instead of crying why not ask Jolla to use a stronger CDN to meet the demand?

Also about your scare-mongering do consider that Jolla have encouraged porting and want their OS to be open enough to be ported. I can wager they won't be so stupid to start blocking non-Jolla users instead of just improving their infra... Therefore stop posting BS...

It makes sense what you said but only if they are enough devices out there to create such a bottleneck. It seems hard to believe for me that we are there already even with the N9's.
Personally I'm being patient. I'm still waiting for the N9 port of Sailfish to get better before I put it on to my N9.

Unless we don't know what the server issues really are, it's not useful to point fingers at each other.

I somehow doubt that there are more N9(50) running Sailfish out there than there are Jolla phones. It's pretty advanced stuff to install it on the N9(50).

Is this version and procedure useable for N9 with Ubiboot?

Hi
Thanks to all (everyone who participated in this progress,even with asking questions).

I'm sorry for my mistakes in English

I was far from topic and updates recently.

I'm testing http://www.mediafire.com/download/zj..._0_0_5.tar.bz2 Image (Thanks Max83) with old wiki, for example in "Enable Root Access (Windows Users)" section there was not:
Code:
nano /sailfish/etc/shadow # Open the shadow file where Sailfish is mounted

On the first line, you will have (where XXXXX are 5 numbers):
root:34.random.letters.numbers.and.symbols:XXXXX:0:99999:7:::

Now, delete the all letters, numbers and symbols after "root:" and before :XXXXX:0:99999:7:::

For example, change:
root:$1$00Z6Bfjc$vlIKUOMHIavIABL1gNuy6/:16049:0:99999:7:::
into:
root::16049:0:99999:7:::

Save and exit the file (CTRL+X, Y to save).
And there were not "Repository Replacement", "Access Harmattan's MyDocs" and "statefs Workaround (with GUI!)".

I read the wiki page and some recent posts of this topic but I couldn't find solution for my problems:
1) By I trying installation with "zypper in ..." or "zypper install ..." I receive this:
Code:
Loading repository data...
Reading installed packages...
'file.extension' not found in package names. Trying capabilitties.
No provider of 'file.extension' found.
Resolving package dependencies...

Nothing to do.
I received that message exactly same, when 'file.extension' was a.rpm, b.deb and c.apk

2) The file manager does not open files it only shows and delete them.

3) After doing "Access Harmattan's MyDocs" instruction when I receive a file by Bluetooth it is not played (unlike before it that .mp3 was played by touching file name in transfer list.

4) Is it possible to upgrade it to "r4 image" with having Max83 installed programs and UI?
Thanks for your attention
with regards
