And I see that everywhere. Noone knows about the N9.

It's a shame. Great things should be recognized and appreciated
This really pisses me off too.

The verge article also says they will come with "inductive charging docks that require you to align up the two contacts".

Not sure if they have their facts skewed, but the use of contacts would just make it standard charging dock.

As for 8mp Purview? Well someone did say that PV could not run on WP... You can imagine the egg on their faces, pfft

Just get a blackberry 10 device instead - will run Qt/QML apps (porting all meego apps should be easy), should support android apps as well.

And it's rumoured to have a quad core snapdragon processor. Shame we to go to BB to get something Nokia could not give us a decent N900 replacement.

You didn't mention that it _still_ doesn't have true multitasking.

(Despite the fact that MS used the exact phrase "true multitasking", when actually it's no better than iPhone's....)

It's perfectly capable of it. After all WP8 is based on the same core as W8 and RT ....... hence why they have artificially crippled it, because it's such a bloated, slow, excressence of a 'mobile' operating system that there's absolutely no way that performance or battery life could ever be acceptable if it was left to work as normal.

In many ways, WP8 is even worse than its predecessors.

P.S. Still haven't seen a single Lumia of any description in the wild in any country I've visited that didn't belong to an MS / Nokia rep.

I know nothing about WP7, but I hate the iPhone, etc. for forcing the user to do everything through iTunes and not allowing access to the files with a real file manager. (I'm talking about non-jailbroken.) Ditto for my TouchPad, which does things like downloads files I don't want without asking me if I want them or allowing me to rename them. I was hoping that Microsoft's Win8 mobile offerings would, with the Windows desktop heritage, at least have a real and accessible file manager.

Are you telling me that WP7 doesn't and that WP8 won't??
