faster, more stable, looks nicer! i love it!
sometimes the app manager is a bit slowly when it updates the packagelist.
i hope the backlight management will be better next release and the whole apps will be updated soon to work on os2008.
is already a (transparent) taskbar clock available? i miss it. also some dark themes (specialy for the keyboard) would be nice. if anybody knows one, please reply.

It is there to tell you if you are communicating with a device or not.
But that can also be achieved by leaving the icon persistent yet changing its state.

Bottom line, it should be the user's choice what is persistent in that bar and what is not.

So I just upgraded my newly bought n800 last night and then I downgraded this morning. The thumbboard is driving me nuts. It doesn't input passwords properly, and it double types everything in xTerm.

MicroB also needs a non-hack way to configure the dpad. I do not want to page up and down via the scroll bar and stylus/fingernail.

Sure.
I was not defending their choice. I was trying to explain it as it also happens to be the way I use it.

Make sure you use bugs.maemo.org, file bug and enhancement reports if they don't already exist, and if they do exist, vote for them, add comments, etc.

I saw a bug on bugzilla related to thumb board and AJAX input already so I just added a comment to it.

Just upgraded to OS2008 Beta, my comments:

OS2008 seems faster than OS2007.

"Listen Now" on Sirius.com still does not work ; can log in but no music is played.
Maybe an Add-on for Mozilla is needed?

Media Streamer is not compatible with OS2008.

How can the font size be increased?
Font way too small for me. If I zoom a web site page size, it distorts the view(page not displayed correctly).
I tried using Midnight Commander, browsed to /.mozilla/microb/prefs.js and saw nothing mentioning font size.

"about:config" locks up my N800.

Using Midnight commander, I added
user_pref("font.min-size.fixed.x-western", 17);
user_pref("font.min-size.variable.x-western", 17);
to prefs.js
and that seemed to increase font size.
