it wont work ...

That's the exact issue I had. I've already requested the source and am waiting for a response.

I don't know if it helps you anyway but there is a similar package available named libfaad2.(Both of them are MPEG-4 and MPEG-2 AAC decoders) . I am not sure if it's going to work though.
EDIT:Oh,I am misinformed. Faac is encoder and Faad is decoder.

yeah after got rid of mplayer. I got the error.
libbz2.so.1 not found.

there is a libbz2.so.1 in RPM, is it possible to port that?

Every program I use encodes it into 4:3.
