Has anybody ever tried this with his Nokia 770?

My idea:
Tunnel traffic through DNS requests.

Don't know what I mean?

There is a port of iodine which does exactly what you want. OpenVPN may work too if you set port to 53, it just does not look like DNS then.

Tunneling through DNS is great for free internet access on some commercial wifi services ;o)

This guy seems to have built a package for the N800. I just wrote him an email. Maybe he can release it.

His N800 package of iodine is in his "bora" repository, dated July 22nd.
Maybe it also works on the 770, worth a try.

[edit] ok, i found it. It needs root access and can be found in /sbin/iodine

The package for "bora" does install on a 770 (gregale), and seems to run. Haven't really tested yet, but at least the command line prints usage, not some error or segfault...

yup as you see, I already checked that. Now I need package for my linux router for the daemon...

Now we need someone with his own DNS and a server running iodined :-)
