i've seen ppl say that u need a mem card and create a partition on it to install a secondary os
well n900 has a 25gb free space
cant we use that for partition?

I would imagine you could, but the advantage of using the mem card is minimal chance of bricking your device.

In this post, DJ_Steve says that he refuses to provide info on how to do it from the internal memory, this is likely to be because it is a lot easier to mess up and make problems a lot harder to fix on the internal memory.

IIRC DJ_Steve told me there's a pretty high risk of bricking your N900 if you partition it wrong.. So it's probably easier to buy a cheap MicroSD and use.
