Ah sorry, that's strange. I experience this crash every time I install a new version of the applet with Qt Creator but afterwards it works okay.

So I thought you are having the same problem but I just installed the version I published and you are right it crashes the desktop every time I am trying to load the applet.

Will have a look at it and post an update when it's fixed.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Well, it seems that the executable in the package doesn't get installed with the execution bit set.

As I am no packaging guru and rely on Qt Creator to do the job you have to set the bit manually to fix this:

Code:
chmod +x /usr/lib/hildon-desktop/friendlyfm
has worked for me.

thanks percy, it is working for me in the sense not crashing the desktop.

I will try this out tomorrow when going to office and report back with an incoming call to see how it works.

am too not packaging expert, but can read and see how to do this.

also would recommend moving your files to /opt instead of /usr/lib or root partition.

confirmed it, this works as expected. Switch the fm on and call the phone, phone rings from its speakers, when you pick up sound comes through fm. Best integration of fm/car kit so far.

Thanks Percy.

//RESURRECTION MODE

Is Percy still around?
Well, just got notice from v0.2.3 ^^
Can one put those changes up in the repository?

And to make this widget perferct, it would be great if the RDS features
from FM RDS Notify could be implemented as well.

Also great to have would be if friendly fm could be switched on when setting an specified profile from profilesX
regards.

Hi,

I sold my N900 a while back and removed the SDK from my computer.

All I can offer is the source code of v0.2.3 if anyone wants to create the package for the repos or wants to add more features.

I would've gladly bought a N9 with Meego if Nokia didn't go the way it did.

Sorry to disappoint you,

Percy

percy, could You upload source somewhere, and drop link in this topic? I, and some other interested people would like to save code from disappearing.
