I find it redundant to have the name of a contact on the desktop shortcut since I already have a picture...is there a way to only show the picture? Same goes for Conversation view, and Web shortcuts that show the webpage.

you can make the web shortcuts smaller using theme customiser, that gets rid of the text, but the answer is no for the other stuff, as far as i know
