I don't know if it is possible to change the intervals in the GUI, but the actual value (in seconds) is in the gconf key:
/system/osso/connectivity/network_type/search_interval
/system/osso/connectivity/network_type/search_interval

thanks. Using gconftool with that works.
Does anyone know how to create/set different connection interval than 5,10,30,60 minutes for the Internet connections setting "Search interval"?
