Hope not. If that was true just give them another 10 M and they might manage to deliver 900 more tablets.

In fact give me 5 and I set up shop in Salo. Buying the rest of the Jolla tablet from Asia, and ship more tablets than Jolla managed with all their money and people.

Do Jolla even pay tax in Helsinki?

After all, Ubuntu edge amount might not be a marketing stunt. Given Jollas story you probobly need 30-40 M to build a device. It's just that Jolla had no clue about it.

I don't know what you mean by "in different cases", but really? You think that actually happens - you turn up at a fairly major tech journalism website's office with a plastic dummy, and they run a story with their watermarks on the pictures and the URL "[your]-phone-hands-on-preview"?

There's being cautious, which is good, but there's also slipping beyond that into outright paranoia...

p.s. You can fake video too you know

It just takes loads of the startup money to burn first.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0lrIi0ce5E is a good documentary on how Finnish startups are expected to behave.

~8 million total. Not per year (you can see the split per year if you look up jolla oy in ssahla's link).

A lot of money for sure, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

And AFAIK it's quite often not "free" money, but money you eventually will repay once/if you do start raking in the moolah (loans/share ownership).

Do you have some links to prove it?

According to these it is not per year it is for total. Tekes have given total of 8.3 million in grants and loans to Jolla. Of which they paid 7.9 million to Jolla. Jolla did not get any money in 2015.

Also Omega use Liquidmetal for they're watches.
Perhaps they just use quicksilver (mercury)?

Proof once again that even the most horrificly dubious discussions can have points of education and other enlightenment.

No, its not completely told.
Apple already saved exclusive license with Liquidmetal Tech. Inc. back in August 2010, for use in consumer electronics products.
Swatch Group (Omega) has a license back from 2011 to use liquidmetal in Watches.
Apple has at least renewed exclusivity in May 2014 for use in "consumer electronic products".
And recently again back in June 2015

Sure they use a different Name, "Liquidmorphium". So please link up sources for that. I couldn't find any.(ok, wasn't looking very hard -> Edit).
Who else produces liquidmetal kind of material would be a start to clear things up.
EDIT, at least there is a wikipedia article that mentions TRI and a reddit article.
TRIs trademark for liquid morphium is still "NON FINAL".
