Detailed schematics for many Nokia devices can be found in this thread.

The schematics are in the form of a PDF stored in a compressed RAR archive.

Here are the direct links for the 770 (894kB) and N800 (1.0MB) files.

I hope they are useful to someone.

Thanks!! I can't imagine that I would need them BUT being a retired engineer, I always like to have all the detail behind my toys.

This has probably all been said before...

Page 3 (oo-err) on the N800 schematics - scroll to the middle of the Display Controller and you'll see several output (?) lines labelled TVOUT, STVOUT, TVOUTN, STVOUTN; an IO (?) line TVREF, TFS?DJ and TVBS. All have been wired to ground.

Are the labels purely arbitrary I wonder...

It shares a few components with the higher end N series phones...see: http://nokia-tuning.net/?s=iccomp_bb5

Avilma - Audio/UI
Betty - Energy Management
OMAP - ARM CPU

And a few not mentioned there:
MENELAUS - Memory I/O - ?Voltage Regulator - and the king of Ancient Sparta Couldn't see Helen anywhere.

There's a temperature sensor for the OMAP, which may suggest that the N800 runs slower at higher temperatures? Or it may be something to do with compensating for various variables wrt the touchscreen - either way I bet one of you out there has probed the values from this just like they do with the Nintendo DS.

Thanks for posting the schematics I'd never contemplate opening mine up and it's nice to see how it's all wired up! Wish they were scanned in at a higher resolution, it's hard to read some of the text.

And sometimes they do, just the ports aren't added because it ups the price by 50p

Anyone wanna give it a shot, lol?

I found Helen she seems to be the OMAP in the N770 Schematics, hehe.

Looking into it a bit more...

I find out the LCD controller is the S1D13745 - This SUPPORTS TV-Output - so the lines that are simply grounded may well still be usable provided the correct registers are tweaked.

Anyways, the same controller also supports hardware rotation - I wonder why Nokia never made use of that? [Saying that it's fairly redundant...software rotation doesn't hurt too much methinks.]

S1D13745 - http://www.channel-microelectronic.d...3ac001.f01.pdf

Flyer suggests the chip can be set to output either a TV signal, OR LCD signal (but not both.)

Couldn't find the spec sheet though but I did find S1D13742 (N770 Controller) here: http://www.erd.epson.com/index.php?o...d=68&Itemid=40

Looks like a developer was discussing other stuff way back in the day...

Some source code suggesting HSSI Interface/TV Configuration?? http://linux.omap.com/pipermail/linu...ch/009241.html

So yeah - anyone wanna lift up a few choice chip pins and tweak those hardware registers to test it out?

So... does it show the video signal going to USB?

Well, a TV output would have been nice - that little yellow plug on the front on many TVs. My first digital still camera had one, and it was surprisingly useful. If it can be included in such a cheap camera I don't think it would've added much cost to the N800 (which cost way more than my camera, even back when cameras were way more expensive than now).

I have no idea why, but the N800 schematics link says:

File has been removed!

Does someone know where else I can get it, or post it again somewhere?

Thanks
