Hi All - first post after using my N800 for about a month. Great forum for help and information. I have been using media streamer with TVersity media server on my PC. Is there media server software I can use on my PC to stream to my N800 over the internet? Ideally I would like to play some of my MP3, WMA etc audio files use my N800 to listen when I am away from home.

Thanks

Hi,

Orb is the easiest method.
But this is mentioned in a LOT of other threads, why didn't you use search?

for example: "streaming video to N800"

Why not use TVeristy? It should be able to work with the N800 even on the net. I use it for streaming internally at home through the web interface using the browser. You need to configure your router with port forwarding and stuff... And ofcourse a pretty good upload bitrate is required.

For the browser to launch e.g Mplayer, try search "Mplayer opera.ini" or similar.

Really? I have not been able to figure out how to use TVersity to stream my PC's media to my 770 remotely. I would like to be able to access my media while traveling using TVersity thru Canola. Can it be done?

Slimserver is another alternative.

I use it to serve up mp3 and flac files to my Ruko soundbridge media player.

I have also successfully connected to it with the N770.

-have fun

As I havenīt sufficient ADSL upload myself I havenīt tried...
But I recon it wouldnīt be such a fuzz knowing your IP address and using the browser just like I do at home. Besides normal firewall stuff, then.
As for the Canola thing or another media streamer app, I have no idea...
