is there any way in the future that it would be possible to play random only from one genre?

Or right now?



If you "right-click" on the genre (e.g. alternative) you can add to now playing list.
If Random is selected then it will play random from one genre.

...except, you're showing him how to do what he wants with Media Player, and he's asking how to do it in the Canola forum...

Even in Canola you can do it right now.

Just go to Audio -> My Music -> Genres

Then pick a genre, and start playing a song.
Then, open the options menu (bottom right corner) and select "shuffle"

Canola will then play randomly through that genre.

I understand that this isn't quite what you asked, but this should achieve the same thing, right? Or did I misunderstand in some manner?

Josiahg is right. I think the buttons are fairly small there indicating that shuffle and repeat is on, and is part of our goals now to make the wizard (first time use, configures everything) and the video that points this main usage things that sometimes are not clear enough.

We try to place every feature in everywhere it makes sense. For example playlist was thought that way. We did not added to avoid an overflow of bugs coming from everywhere... so now we will expand the support and so son.

please keep the doubts coming..thats the way we can improve
