mplayer has a -playlist option

(found that by typing "maemo video playlist" into that obscure Google thing...)

I'm using the default media player for playing my music video collection.

You cannot create video playlists with the default media player. And it is also not possible to start a video playlist from within the media player ui.

But you can use dbus to load a video playlist!
Try the following command (xterm). Put your video play list in the MyDocs directory. Filename "Musik Videos.m3u". Of course you can change that.

Code:
run-standalone.sh dbus-send --print-reply --dest=com.nokia.mediaplayer /com/nokia/mediaplayer com.nokia.mediaplayer.mime_open string:"file:///home/user/MyDocs/Musik%20Videos.m3u"
If that's working, you can create a shortcut for playing that play list... Let me know if you are ready for that step.
